While Calle de Palencia itself is more residential, the wider Tetuán district offers cultural and recreational activities. This includes local parks, theaters, and shopping areas. The larger Parque de Santander is also relatively close, featuring a large green space with a running track, sports facilities, and a small lake. Various restaurants and cafes are serving Spanish cuisine, as well as several international food outlets reflecting the multicultural nature of the neighborhood. Additionally, several supermarkets and smaller grocery stores provide ingredients for home cooking.

The area is well-served by public transportation. Estrecho Metro Station, which is on Line 1 of the Madrid Metro, is just a short walk away, providing easy access to the city center and other districts. A network of bus routes also services the area, and there are often taxis available. Like much of Madrid, Calle de Palencia is quite walkable and bike-friendly.
